Knights give Domalewskis a night out on the town
Benevolence comes in many forms and it seems as if the residents of Wayne Township are rich in philanthropy when it comes to the outpouring of support for the Domalewski family.

Steven, while pitching in a Wayne PAL baseball game, was standing just 45 feet from home plate when he was struck in the chest above his heart with a batted ball in between heartbeats which triggered a rare form of cardiac arrest.
Following an eight month hospital stay, Steven has returned home and back to school. He’s been involved in various forms of rehabilitation therapy to help strengthen his legs and restore his physical capabilities. His family reports that Steven has been making great strides.
Dan Piszczatoski, a member of the Northern New Jersey chapter of the Nam Knights, out of Carlstadt, is a neighbor of the Domalewskis and is a witness of Steven’s amazing recovery. Remembering the day it happened, Piszczatoski knew he had to do something and figured Steven’s parents could use a night out on the town.
“I live on the same street. It was awful that day. I see Steven getting off the handicap bus every day now,” Piszczatoski said.
So he set out to acquire donations with a goal of about $500 in mind and wound up with over $1,200.
“Donations came from business owners as well as out-of-towners too,” he said.
The Nam Knights, known for promoting community awareness, arrived at the Domalewskis house recently lining the street with about 15 motorcycles much to the surprise of Joe, who was the only one home at the time.
The Knights presented him with a gift certificate for a restaurant in Lyndhurst and tickets to see the hit Broadway show “Phantom of the Opera” which the Knights received from an anonymous donor.
“It was a very nice surprise from our neighbor. What a great thought for them to think of my wife and I and treat us to a night out to give us a break. It’s just terrific,” said Joe Domalewski.
